A service exhibition and award distribution ceremony was held in Belkuchi, Sirajganj, on the occasion of the National Livestock Week with the theme 'Local breeds, modern technology - there will be progress in livestock'. On Wednesday (November 26, 2025) morning, Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Afrin Jahan inaugurated the exhibition by blowing up colorful balloons and festoons at the Upazila Livestock Office premises, jointly organized by the Upazila Administration and Upazila Livestock Department.
Upazila Livestock Officer Dr. Nazmul Haque presided over the program. Also present at the time were Upazila Agriculture Officer Sukanta Dhar, Upazila Project Implementation Officer Abu Helal Uddin, Belkuchi Police Station Sub-Inspector Sabuj Kumar, Daulatpur Union Panel Chairman Shamchul Alam, various farmers, entrepreneurs, animal lovers and local students.
A total of 30 stalls of improved breeds and more productive livestock were seen at the exhibition. These included
Cows, calves, improved breeds of goats, sheep, local and foreign breeds of chickens, ducks, pigeons, hobby birds and various types of pets. Farmers presented their latest farm technology, animal husbandry methods and various innovative ideas for increasing production to the visitors.
UNO Afrin Jahan said at the event, “It is possible to revolutionize livestock by preserving local breeds and using modern technology. If young entrepreneurs come forward, Belkuchi district can become a model region.”
At the end of the exhibition, prizes were distributed among the best exhibitors and successful farmers. On the occasion of Livestock Week, this event created a festive atmosphere in the area and increased interest in livestock among the general public and students.
