A huge amount of liquor and drug-making equipment was recovered and destroyed in a drive led by the Sabai Bazar Drug Eradication Committee in Manda, Naogaon.
This Sunday (October 5) afternoon, a drive was conducted at the houses of Mehar Baksh, Alimuddin, Tahidul Islam and Totar in Chaksabai village of Tentulia union of the upazila and about 200 liters of liquor and 50 bottles of liquor were recovered.
The drug items recovered in the drive were displayed in front of the villagers. At this time, all those involved in drug dealing were made to sign a stamp stating that they would not manufacture and sell drugs. Later, the drugs were destroyed in the presence of everyone in the Union Parishad premises.
At this time, Union Parishad Chairman SM Mokhlesur Rahman Kamrul, Sabai Bazar Drug Eradication Committee General Secretary Sumon Sheikh, members Sohel Rana, Sabuj Ali, local dignitaries and more than a hundred villagers were present.
