Decision to expel Mobarak Hossain, the president of Sreepur Upazila Reporters Club of Gazipur. The decision was taken unanimously in an emergency meeting held at the temporary office organized by the club on Monday (September 16) from 10 am to 2 pm.
The members were accused in the meeting that the current president Mobarak Hossain used a fake signature in the name of expelling the general secretary and obtained signatures by falsely misrepresenting the members and using a fake pad instead of the club's official pad and published a humiliating notice.
In addition, various evidence of his arbitrariness, including misbehavior with the members, was presented in the meeting. The organization expressed its regret to the general secretary over this incident and announced that he will continue to be the general secretary as before.
The meeting was chaired by Vice-President Mohammad Mosharraf Fakir and Co-Editor Journalist Md. Nahidul Islam. In addition, fiction writer and prominent journalist Ruhul Amin Sujan was specially present at the meeting. Opinions were expressed in this discussion by Bangladesh Mofusal Journalists Forum (BMSF) Sreepur Upazila President Md. Abdul Baten Bachchu, S TV Special Representative Naeem Hasan, Organizing Secretary Md. Shahin Alam, Publicity Secretary Rafiqul Islam, Sports and Cultural Secretary Mahfuz Hasan Siam, Religious Affairs Secretary Md. Al Amin, Executive Member Atiqul Islam Paran, Md. Mintu Mia, Shakil Mia, Hena, Women's Affairs Secretary Masum Sarkar, Planning Affairs Secretary Al Abid, and former members Badal Ahmed and Shahadat Hossain.
They all participated in the discussion and agreed on the decision to expel President Mobarak Hossain and proposed to retain him as a member. And all the members expressed their opinion to take the Sreepur Upazila Reporters Club forward by appointing a qualified person to the vacant post of President through a new election.
The meeting decided that Mubarak Hossain will have to formally respond to the allegations within the next seven days. Otherwise, his membership will be cancelled. In addition to the members of the organization, numerous journalists from print and electronic media were present at the time.
