Comilla, September 24 – Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has arrested an Indian national while trying to enter Bangladesh illegally through the Brahmanpara border in Comilla. This information was confirmed by Naib Subedar Abu Bakkar, Camp Commander of Shashi Dal BOP, on Tuesday (September 23).
According to BGB sources, the name of the arrested youth is Robin Hossain (25). He is the son of Abdul Salam of Gaurangala village of Boxnagar police station in Sepahijala district of Tripura state, India.
A special patrol team of 60 BGB of Shashi Dal BOP conducted the operation based on secret information. The patrol team led by Camp Commander Naib Subedar Abu Bakkar went out to the border area on Monday (September 22) at around 9 pm. Robin was arrested in front of the Narayanpur shrine at around 10:30 pm. At that time, he was unable to show any valid passport or travel documents.
Camp Commander Naib Subedar Abu Bakkar said, “A case has been filed against the detained youth. He was later handed over to the police station. Later, he was sent to jail through the court.”
BGB authorities also said that security is being strengthened at the border and regular surveillance will be carried out to prevent attempts to enter Bangladesh illegally.
