Indian national arrested in Ashulia fraud case

Police have arrested an Indian national named Jagdish Singh (50) from Uttara area in a case of fraud and forgery in Ashulia.

On Monday (October 13), Ashulia Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Abdul Hannan confirmed this information on Monday (October 13) afternoon. Earlier, he was arrested from Zamzam Tower area under Uttara West Police Station in the capital around 11 pm on Sunday.

According to the case report, the accused Jagdish Singh and some others prepared fake documents and forged signatures with the intention of breaking trust and cheating and tried to embezzle money. The victim in this incident filed a case with Ashulia Police Station.

According to police sources, the arrested Jagdish Singh is an Indian national. He married Bangladeshi national Laila Sharmin Priya about 10-11 years ago and was living in Gulshan and Uttara, Dhaka. They have three children in their married life. He is currently living with his wife and children in the Army Housing Society under Dakshin Khan Police Station.

Ashulia Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Abdul Hannan said, “An Indian national has been arrested in a case of cheating and forgery. He was handed over to the learned court this afternoon.”
