Based on a secret tip-off, a couple was arrested with 589 pieces of Yaba and 6 lakh taka in cash. The Bangladesh Army is working tirelessly to maintain law and order in the country. In continuation of this, a special army operation was conducted in Jagdishpur Union of Badalgachhi Upazila of Naogaon district from 9:30 pm on October 4 to 1 am on October 5. A husband and wife were arrested with a large quantity of Yaba in the operation.
The operation was conducted under the leadership of Major Wazed under the supervision of the Joypurhat Army Camp of the 11th Infantry Division. After conducting a long operation based on a secret tip-off, two drug dealers were arrested red-handed during a raid on the house of a drug dealer in the Zero Point area on the border of Joypurhat and Naogaon districts.
The arrested are - Md. Faruk Hossain (51), father: Md. Abu Bakkar, mother: Md. Abeda Khatun, village: Jamalganj, district: Naogaon. Md. Smriti Akhtar Rumi (44), wife: Md. Faruk Hossain, father: Habibur Rahman, mother: Md. Manta Begum, village: Mandalpara, Narayanpara, Joypurhat Sadar.
589 pieces of Yaba tablets (estimated value 1 lakh 76 thousand 700 taka) and cash worth 6 lakh 52 thousand 50 taka for drug sales were recovered in the operation.
After the operation, the arrested persons along with the recovered goods were handed over to SI Momin of Badalgachhi Police Station. Police said that a regular case is under process in this incident.
