A human chain was held in front of the Islami Bank Bera branch demanding immediate layoff of incompetent officers and employees illegally employed by S Alam (from 2017 to 2024).
The Bera Islami Bank Customer Forum organized the human chain at Fazlal Fakir intersection in the upazila around 9 am on Monday.
The speakers at the human chain, chaired by Mosharraf Hossain, said that the illegal recruitment of people from special areas of the banking sector, including Islami Bank, should be canceled and merit-based recruitment should be given immediately. They also demanded that the money laundered abroad by the S Alam Group be brought back to the country.
Islami Bank Customer Forum Bera Branch President Ataur Rahman, Secretary Mohammad Ali Jinnah, Customer Mozammel Haque, Hafez Maulana Abdur Rahim, Hafez Abdus Salam Bipul and many others spoke at the human chain. A large number of customers were present at the human chain.
