A huge human chain has been organized by the locals demanding the suspension of all intercity trains and the construction of a second platform at Narundi Railway Station.
Local dignitaries, leaders of social organizations, students, businessmen and common people participated in the human chain held at Narundi Railway Station area on Tuesday morning. The speakers said that although Narundi Railway Station has been an important means of communication for the locals for a long time, the people are suffering immensely as most intercity trains do not stop here.
They also claimed that the lack of a second platform at the station is creating serious problems in the safety and movement of passengers. The speakers sought the intervention of the Bangladesh Railway authorities to implement these demands quickly.
