Traders of Sonapur Bazar in Ramganj have formed a human chain demanding the immediate arrest and hanging of the murderers involved in the much-discussed mother-daughter murder case in Ramganj, Lakshmipur. The hour-long human chain organized by the Ramganj Sonapur Bazar Management Committee on Monday was presided over by the market management committee president, Master Abul Hossain.
Prominent traders of the market, including Apurba Kumar Saha, Liton Saha, Suman Atiya, Sameer Ranjan Saha, Suman Chowdhury, Md. Babu, Md. Mizanur Rahman, Md. Anwar Hossain, Md. Azizur Rahman, Loha Monir, and other businessmen, spoke demanding the immediate arrest and hanging of the criminals in the Ramganj double murder case. After the human chain, a protest procession with the participation of the traders circled various roads in Ramganj including Sonapur Bazar.
It is worth mentioning that on Thursday evening, October 9, Julekha Begum (55), wife of prominent businessman Mohammad Mizanur Rahman of Ramganj Sonapur Bazar, and her daughter Tanha Akhter Meem (19) were murdered in their own residence in Uttar Chandipur Khamar Bari of the upazila. Unknown assailants slaughtered them and looted 30 kg of gold ornaments and valuables.
