Global Handwashing Day was celebrated in Dhamirhat, Naogaon. A rally and discussion meeting was held on October 15 at 10 am, organized by the Upazila Public Health Engineering Department in collaboration with DASCO Foundation (Thrive Project) and World Vision Dhamirhat AP.
Officials of various departments, students and NGO representatives participated in the celebration of the day. After the rally, the discussion meeting was chaired by Deputy Assistant Engineer Milan Kumar of the Public Health Engineering Department, and the chief guest Upazila Executive Officer Shahriar Rahman gave a speech highlighting the importance of Handwashing Day.
Other speeches were given by Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Ashish Kumar Sarkar, Youth Development Officer Kamruzzaman Sardar, Primary Education Officer Rabiul Islam, Project Engagement Officer Mansur Ali, OC Imam Zafar, etc. Health and Family Planning Officer Ashish Kumar Sarkar and Deputy Assistant Engineer of the Public Health Engineering Department Milan Kumar taught the students how to wash their hands.
