Free improved varieties of Maskalai seeds and fertilizers have been distributed among small and marginal farmers in Godagari, Rajshahi. In this, farmers are dreaming of bumper yields of Maskalai crops and increasing production.
These materials were distributed at a function at the Upazila Parishad premises on Thursday (September 11) at 10 am.
500 farmers of the upazila’s unions and municipalities were given 5 kg of improved varieties of Maskalai seeds, 10 kg of DAP and 5 kg of MOP fertilizer per person under the Maskalai (variety: Bari Maskalai-3) incentive program in the Kharip-2 season in the 2025-26 financial year.
The program was formally inaugurated by Godagari Upazila Nirbahi Officer Faisal Ahmed as the chief guest under the chairmanship of Upazila Agriculture Officer Maryam Ahmed. Deputy Assistant Agriculture Officers of various unions and municipalities, media workers and marginal farmers were present at the time.
Farmers said, “This year, we have received improved seeds and fertilizers from the Upazila Agriculture Office. With which we will cultivate the land. We are hoping for a bumper yield by cultivating Maskalai.”
Godagari Upazila Agriculture Officer Maryam Ahmed said, “Free Maskalai seeds and fertilizers have been distributed among 500 small and marginal farmers of the upazila to increase the production of Maskalai crops. We hope that there will be a bumper yield of Maskalai crops in this upazila this season.”
