Chuadanga Correspondent:
Chuadanga Deputy Commissioner Mr. Mohammad Zahirul Islam has inaugurated several important development works in Damurhuda Upazila as part of an exceptional public welfare program.
Today, Friday, September 19, 2025, at around 3:30 pm, he released fish fry at Damurhuda DC Ecopark, inaugurated the new Jame Mosque and later inaugurated a new children’s park for landless children in Purbapara of Kapasdanga and handed over play equipment to them.
Damurhuda Upazila Executive Officer Mr. Tithi Mitra and Upazila Land Affairs Officer KH Tasfiqur Rahman were present at these events. The DC Ecopark, a combination of nature and spirituality, has long been a popular entertainment center for the people of the area.
Its natural beauty and peaceful environment attract visitors. Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Zahirul Islam released fish fry of various species in the park’s vast water body to further enhance the beauty and biodiversity of this park. At the time, he said, “It is the responsibility of all of us to maintain the balance of the environment and increase natural resources. These fish fry will further enrich the ecosystem of the water body.”
At the same time, he inaugurated a new Jama Masjid built inside the park. This mosque will serve as a peaceful place of worship not only for the employees and visitors of the park, but also for the devotees of the surrounding area.
After cutting the ribbon and inaugurating the mosque, the Deputy Commissioner participated in the prayer and prayed for the welfare of the country and the nation. A dream destination for landless children The most touching moment of the day was the inauguration of the children’s park built for landless children in Kapasdanga Purbapara.
Many families in this area are homeless and their children are deprived of opportunities for sports and entertainment. This park, built at the initiative of the district administration, has opened a new horizon for them. After inaugurating the park, the Deputy Commissioner spent some time with the children and handed over new play equipment to them.
Seeing the smiling faces of the children, he got emotional and said, “A child’s smile is the most precious asset in the world. This park is not just a place to play for them, but a dream destination. We want every child to have a healthy and beautiful childhood.”
The locals present expressed deep gratitude to the district administration for this initiative. They said, “Our children could not play in the open before, but now they have their own playground. We are very happy about this.” Upazila Nirbahi Officer Tithi Mitra said, “Various people-oriented activities are being conducted in Damurhuda Upazila under the leadership of the District Administrator.
The DC Ecopark and these parks built for landless children are shining examples of this. We are working to improve the quality of life of people from all walks of life.” Upazila Land Affairs Officer KH Tasfiqur Rahman said that the government is committed to improving the quality of life of homeless and landless people as well as providing housing.
This children’s park is a part of that. All these developmental activities have created great enthusiasm among the local people and they hope that more such public welfare projects will be implemented in the future. This initiative of the District Administrator proves that not only enforcing the law, but also providing humanitarian assistance to the weaker sections of the society is an important responsibility of the administration.
