A farmer training and seed distribution program was organized jointly by Bangladesh and RDRS today (December 14), Sunday, 2025 at 11 am at Eidgaon ground, No. 5 Duosuo Union, Baliadangi Upazila, Thakurgaon.
Under the Reacts in Project implemented by Okta Harvest Plus and RDRS Bangladesh, today’s training program discussed the importance of zinc in the human body, zinc requirements and deficiency symptoms. In addition, the speakers discussed the amount of zinc in Bri Dhan 74 and Bri Dhan 102 varieties of rice and zinc rice production techniques, seed preservation methods, etc.
Today, a total of 295 farmers were trained under the Bangladesh Reacts-in Project of RDRS and after the training, 4 kg of zinc-rich Bidhan 74 seeds were distributed to each person. Abdullah Al Baki, Agricultural Extension Officer of Baliadangi Upazila and Mohidul Islam, Deputy Assistant Officer of Duosuo Union No. 5, were present at the farmer training and seed distribution ceremony.
The ceremony was presided over by Dr. AKM Salahuddin, Team Leader (Agriculture and Climate Change) of RDRS Bangladesh, and was also attended by Rabiul Alam, Technical Officer (Agriculture and Environment) of RDRS, Pallab Goswami, Research Associate, and Abdullah Al Baki, Agricultural Officer of Reacts in Project RDRS Bangladesh, along with prominent figures from the area.
