The new executive committee of Chapainawabganj Mahananda Press Club has been formed. This committee was formed unanimously at a special general meeting at Aziji Tower Press Club, Baraindara More, Chapainawabganj's main center, on Saturday (October 18) at 5:00 pm. The said event was presided over by senior journalist Md. Shamsul Islam Tuku. The welcome speech was given by Mahananda Press Club President Hasan Ali.
The chief guest was Adina Fazlur Haque Government College Principal Professor Dr. Mohammad Mazharul Islam Toru, former assistant professor and social worker Mia Mohammad Ali Afzal Azizi, Namak Shankarbati High School Headmaster Aslam Kabir, Chapainawabganj George Court Advocate Dr. Tofiqul Islam, District Correspondent of Daily Ajker Sangbad Md. Hasan Ali (Dollar) has been elected as the President of the newly formed Executive Committee of Chapainawabganj Mahananda Press Club, and District Correspondent of Daily Chitra Dainik, Asia Bani and Muslim Times Enamul Haque Nasim has been elected as the General Secretary.
Other members of the committee are: Abdullah Al Mamun Sarkar, Senior Vice President of the Press Club and District Representative of Daily Ajker Darpan and Daily Post, Vice President is Daily A' Bangla District Representative Md. Saiful Islam, Joint General Secretary is Daily Bartam District Representative Muh. Mofizur Rahman Ahmed, Treasurer is Daily Prothom Prohor District Representative Laxman Chandra Das, Organizing Secretary is Daily Bangladesh Samachar District Representative Md. Durul Islam, Publicity Secretary is Daily Asian Age and Bangladesh Voice District Representative Istihaq Ahmed Himel.
The executive members are: Aminul Islam Abir, District Representative of Daily Swadhindesh, Samiul Bashir Sohel of Daily Desh Pratidin, Mizanur Rahman, District Representative of Daily Rupbani, and Roksana Yasmin Jinat, District Representative of Daily Lakhokanth.
The speakers at the discussion meeting said that they were impressed by the glorious tradition and various memories of the bridge-building of Chapainawabganj Mahananda Press Club and hoped that the bond of unity of the media workers would remain unbroken. In addition, all the journalists and invited guests, including the chief guest, assured their overall cooperation in running the press club properly. Finally, the prayer was led by the Khatib of Baitun Noor Jame Mosque, Mohammad Mostakim Billah.
