The first phase of updating the list of old age allowance beneficiaries in 8 upazilas under the social security program has started in Kapasia, Gazipur. On Tuesday morning, October 28, the program was officially inaugurated virtually as the chief guest at the Upazila Parishad auditorium by the Ministry of Social Welfare and Advisor to the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs Sharmin S Murshid.
Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Dr. Tamanna Tasneem presided over the updating ceremony under the overall management of the Upazila Social Service Office. Among others, Dhaka Divisional Social Service Office Additional Director Adil Mottakin, Gazipur Deputy Director Md. Matiar Rahman, Assistant Director ATM Touhiduzzaman, Upazila Social Service Officer Md. Ruhul Amin, Tag Officer Senior Upazila Fisheries Officer Md. Ashrafullah, Kapasia Press Club President FM Kamal Hossain, etc. were present at the time.
It is worth noting that there are 13,239 beneficiaries of old age allowance. The activities have already been officially started in Kapasia, Karihata, Sanmania, Tok, Ghagtia, Durgapur unions. The information of the beneficiaries of each ward of the 11 unions of the upazila will be updated in phases.
