A student-teacher-parent gathering and a pleasant cultural program were held at Rampur High School in Monohardi Upazila of Narsingdi with the aim of improving the quality of education and building a drug-free society.
Narsingdi Civil Surgeon Dr. Syed Md. Amirul Haque Shamim was present as the chief guest at the program organized at the school ground on Saturday (October 18) afternoon. He said that to build a well-educated nation, not only textbooks but also morality, human values and social sense should be taught. Teachers, guardians and the entire society should work together to build a drug-free society.
Officer-in-charge of Monohardi Police Station Mohammad Dulal Uddin Akand, Assistant District Education Officer Md. Akram Hossain, Monohardi Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Md. Rashedul Hasan Mahmud and Rampur Police Investigation Center In-charge Shafiqul Islam were present as special guests.
Officer-in-Charge of Monohardi Police Station Mohammad Dulal Uddin Akand said, “The law enforcement agencies are not only working to curb crime but also to create social awareness. We are always by the side of educational institutions to keep the young generation away from crime and drugs.”
Assistant District Education Officer Md. Akram Hossain said, “Teachers need to be more responsible to maintain discipline in school education and ensure regular attendance of students. The active role of parents is very important in improving the quality of education.”
Dr. Md. Rashedul Hasan Mahmud said, “Drugs are a silent killer. It not only destroys the body but also the future. Joint efforts of families and schools are needed to develop health awareness and anti-drug attitudes in students.”
The invited guests of the program were also present at the program, including the Chairman of Lohajuri Union Parishad of Katiadi Upazila, Ed. Nuruzzaman Iqbal, Advocate Amirul Haque, Teacher Suprajit Das, Political Leaders Nannu Mia and Raihan Uddin, Donor Member of the School Rukon Uddin Member, Khidirpur UP Ward No. 5 Member Dulal Mia, Milan Member and other dignitaries.
The President of the School Management Council, Kh. M. Kamrul Islam, presided over the program. He said that improving the quality of education and building the character of students is our main goal. The school’s Headmaster, Md. Shamsul Islam (Nazim Uddin), delivered the welcome speech. He highlighted the achievements, results and future plans of the school.
