Drug dealer Shahin’s body recovered from under-construction house in Khoksa

Police have arrested a young man in connection with the recovery of the body of drug dealer Shahin Hossain (35) from a house under construction in Khoksa upazila of Kushtia. During police interrogation, the detainee Rakibul Islam Rahul (21) confessed to killing Shahin. He is the son of Osman Ali of Mathpara village in the upazila.

Accused Rahul was sent to court on Friday (October 17) afternoon. Khoksa police station officer-in-charge (OC) Sheikh Moinul Islam confirmed the matter.

Earlier, on Tuesday (October 14) at around 4:30 pm, police recovered Shahin’s body covered with polythene from the balcony of a house under construction in Mathpara village. The deceased Shahin is the son of the deceased Acher Ali of the same area. The deceased Shahin’s wife filed a murder case with Khoksa police station as the plaintiff in this incident.

According to police sources, Rahul was arrested from his area on Thursday (October 16) afternoon based on Shahin’s mobile phone. During this time, Shahin’s three mobile phones and wallet were recovered from him.

During police interrogation, Rahul admitted that Rahul took two Yaba pills from Shahin and consumed them on the day of the incident. At that time, Shahin abused him, threatened him and slapped him in the face when he could not pay. Enraged by this, Rahul made a nylon rope noose and tied it tightly around Shahin’s neck and killed him.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Khoksa Police Station Sheikh Moinul Islam said that the murdered person was involved in drug dealing. The murder was mainly about drugs.
