After the Kurigram District Police arrested 13 people in the first phase for attempting sabotage during the so-called lockdown, in the next 24 hours, they conducted a special anti-sabotage operation and arrested a total of 33 fascists, including 20 people who planned to create instability in various police stations of Kurigram district, who carried out various terrorist activities during the government of the fascist Awami League and tortured ordinary citizens, while planning to create sabotage.
The arrested accused are: Md. Abu Akkas Siddique Darbesh (47), Jubo League member of Ramkhana Union in Nageshwari Upazila, Md. Nazir Josen (42), Organizing Secretary of Santoshpur Union Awami League No. 3, Md. Rafiqul Islam (62), President of Phulbari No. 5 Bhangamor Union Awami League, Md. Saiful Islam (52), Secretary of Rajarhat Chakirpashar Union Awami League Md. Moslem Uddin Mondal (54), Vice President of Bhurungamari No. 6 Paikerchhara Union Awami League Md. Abdul Malek (50), Former President of Andharijhar Union's banned organization Chhatra League Md. Al Amin Hossain (39), Active Member of Kurigram Sadar Kanthalbari Union Jubo League Md. Rezaul Karim Ratan (45), President of Nageshwari Municipality Jubo League Md. A. Jabbar (48), Hasnabad Union Awami League Vice President Md. Alam (42), Raiganj Union Krishak League Ward President Md. Asaduzzaman Bachchu (50), Kurigram Sadar District Awami Jubo League Active Member Md. Ranu (33) and Chilmari Ramna Union Ward No. 1 Awami League President Chhakku Member.
In addition, Ulipur Police have arrested 7 more people on the spot while they were preparing to burn tires on the road and cause damage to public life and property, including vandalism. The arrested are: Asif, organizing secretary of the banned Ulipur Upazila Chhatra League, Durgapur Union branch Chhatra League joint convener and Chapai Nawabganj Polytechnic Institute branch Chhatra League vice president Rudra, Durgapur Union Chhatra League president Taher, Ulipur Upazila Chhatra League president Nazrul, Ulipur Upazila Chhatra League president BM Abdul Wahab Shah, president of the Ulipur Upazila Brahmaputra Bhangan Save Hatia Committee, and Hatia Union Awami League ward 6 secretary Md. Raju Mia.
Kurigram District Police Media Officer and Additional Superintendent of Police, Ulipur Circle, Mr. Md. Ashraful Alam, PPM confirmed the matter and said that in addition to arresting 13 fascists in Kurigram district in the last day for attempting sabotage during the so-called lockdown, in the next 24 hours, Kurigram District Police arrested a total of 33 accused, including 20 more, in various cases in Kurigram district on charges of planning and cooperating to create instability in Kurigram district in a special anti-sabotage operation. This operation will continue regularly to maintain law and order in the district.
