The Livestock Development Department of the West Bengal Government distributed 6000 chickens, or 600 units, in the area of Jaynagar No. 1 Panchayat Samiti. A training camp on chicken farming and chicken distribution program was held on Monday under the initiative of the Livestock Development Department of the West Bengal Government and organized by the Jaynagar Panchayat Samiti.
The West Bengal Government runs a free chicken distribution project for the purpose of self-help groups, women's empowerment and child food security, where special breed (such as RIR) chickens (10 units each) are given to ordinary families to make them self-sufficient. A total of 600 units of chickens are given. Which helps in setting up commercial farms and increasing income.
Making rural women economically self-reliant and increasing income. Meeting the protein needs of families and ensuring child food security. Encouraging chicken farming in the open-range system. Through this special program, chicken chicks were distributed to several families to make rural families self-reliant. Through this initiative, along with the economic development of the local people, training in chicken farming was provided.
6000 chicken chicks were distributed in the area of Jayanagar No. 1 Block Panchayat Samiti. This program was held at the Livestock Development Department of Jaynagar No. 1 Block on Monday afternoon. On this day, ten chicken chicks were given to Chaltaberia, Bamangachi Jangalia, Dhosha Chandaneshwar Baharu Kshetra, Khakurdaha, Beni Fishers of Jaynagar No. 1 Block. These chickens are called egg-producing chickens.
Officials said that these chickens lay 300 eggs every year. A large number of women from far and wide attended the Animal Resources Development Department adjacent to the Jaynagar No. 1 BDO office. Many women from far and wide appreciated this initiative of the Animal Resources Development Department.
Present at the chicken distribution program on this day were Vice President of Jaynagar Block No. 1 Suhana Parveen Vaidya, officers of the Livestock Development Department of Jaynagar Block No. 1, Officer of the Fisheries and Animal Resources Development Department Bhavesh Rangan Chakraborty, BLDO Debarup Roy, Dr. Subhashish Niyogi, former President and member of the District Council Tapan Kumar Mondal, member of the District Council Rawsonara Bibi. Project Director, Dr. Sameer Patra and President of the Panchayat Samiti along with District and Block level officers of the Livestock Department, Anwar Hossain Laskar Animal Husbandry Worker, Vice President Suhana Parveen Vaidya, various members of the Panchayat Samiti.
In this regard, Bhavesh Rangan Chakraborty, Fisheries and Animal Resources Officer of Jaynagar Block 1 Panchayat Samiti, told reporters that 6,000 egg-producing chickens were distributed in the Jaynagar Block 1 Panchayat area. Each fish farmer will get ten chickens. If these chickens are raised properly, they will lay three hundred eggs a year. I hope that the fish farmers will benefit from this.
