The speakers at the meeting said that the role of journalists is very important in strengthening democracy. By providing objective and impartial news, journalists not only present accurate information to the public but also highlight various irregularities and inconsistencies in the state and society. But in today's context, practicing journalism is not easy.
In particular, rural journalists are facing various challenges including limitations in obtaining information, security risks, professional pressure, and legal complications. These challenges make the work of journalists difficult and also weaken the democratic process. In this context, it is possible to build a strong and responsible journalist network through mutual cooperation.
The speakers also said that the media must play a responsible role in establishing democratic values, freedom of expression, and people's rights. In the process of presenting news, true information should be presented to the public by verifying and sorting it, rather than spreading rumors, misleading information, or biased news.
During this time, journalists highlighted various obstacles in performing their professional duties.
