Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus and Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Jajira Police Station in Shariatpur, Mohammad Mainul Islam, were threatened with death by calling from a foreign number. On Friday (October 3), the OC of Jajira Police Station himself filed a general diary (GD) with the police station as a complainant in the incident. GD number- 95.
It is learned that the accused is Mithun Dhali. He is the former general secretary of Tejgaon College Chhatra League in the capital and currently the general secretary of Dhaka Metropolitan North Swechchhasebak League.
According to GD sources, Mithun Dhali held a secret meeting in Jajira with the leaders and activists of the banned organization in order to worsen the law and order situation on the occasion of the birthday of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on September 28. The next day, they secretly held a tree plantation program and marched.
When the police came to know about the matter, Mithun Dhali took shelter in the house of Firoz Khar in the Kunderchar area of the upazila. Later, when a raid was conducted there too, Awami League leaders and activists tried to attack the police by announcing it on the microphone. However, Mithun Dhali managed to escape.

Angered by this, Mithun Dhali called Jajira Police Station OC and Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus on Friday afternoon from a foreign number and threatened to kill him.
Although attempts were made to contact the accused Mithun Dhali on his mobile phone several times in this regard, his phone was found switched off.
OC Mainul Islam said, "Mithun Dhali is trying to create chaos by holding secret meetings with banned Awami League leaders and activists in the Jajira area.
