It is reported that a college teacher died on the spot and the rider behind was seriously injured after being thrown off and falling far away when a night coach "Max Enterprise" hit two people and a motorcycle rider from behind in Bholahat, Chapainawabganj.
According to local and police station sources, on Sunday (November 30, 2025) at around 7:45 pm, on their way home from Bholahat to Chaitantala in the upazila, DS Md. Emdadul Haque (37), son of Munsur Ali of Kazla village in Nachol upazila, MXN Modern Herbal Food Ltd., and GPS Mithun Kumar Das (43), son of Ratan Kumar Das of Harinagar village, teacher of Ranihati College, Shibganj upazila, set off from Bholahat-Sannyasitala for home on a motorcycle.
On the way, at Chaitantala, the Dhaka-bound night coach "Max Enterprise" with vehicle number Dhaka Metro-B-12-1663, the night coach driver Md. Abdur Rahman, pushed the motorcycle from behind. The motorcycle driver Emdadul Haque was thrown away in the impact and Mithun Kumar Das, who was sitting behind, fell on the spot and was crushed by the wheels of the night coach. He suffered a severe head injury and his brain came out and died on the spot.
Upon learning about the accident, a team of Bholahat Fire Service quickly arrived and rescued the injured Emdadul Haque and took him to the local government hospital for treatment. Later, the injured Emdadul Haque escaped danger and said that he was out of danger, said Dr. Mosa Jamila Akhter on duty.
Later, the officer-in-charge of the police station Md. Matiur Rahman, along with SI Md. Khairul Islam and SI Md. Kamal Hossain who were with him, arrested the night coach and driver Md. Abdur Rahman and took them into police custody.
At the time of the incident, eyewitnesses say that the Bholahat police station police were very late in arriving at the scene. And when the fire service personnel saw the blood of the deceased lying on the road, they cleaned it up. In this incident, there was a pent-up anger among the local eyewitnesses towards the police and fire service. Due to which, they threw bricks and stones on the road and blocked the road.
In this regard, the police station officer-in-charge Md. Matiur Rahman told this reporter about the incident that they had come as trainers to a seminar of Modern Herbal Ltd. in Bholahat. After the training, they were returning home on a motorcycle when a Dhaka-bound night coach "Max Enterprise" hit them from behind at a place called Chaitantala. As a result, Mithun Kumar Das died on the spot after being crushed by the wheels of the car. Later, after completing the hospital's work, the deceased Mithun Kumar Das was handed over to his family.
When asked about the night coach and driver Md. Abdur Rahman who were detained at the police station, he said that the night coach "Max Enterprise" and its driver Md. Abdur Rahman are detained. He said that appropriate action will be taken according to the legal process.
