While delivering a speech as the chief guest at the two-year anniversary and alumni reunion of the renowned technical educational institution Fazlur Rahman Memorial College of Technology in Burichang Upazila, Secretary of the Ministry of Housing and Public Works Md. Nazrul Islam expressed his determination to take this college to international standards.
He said, I have spent a lot of time in my life developing this institution. I have tried to keep myself engaged in all the activities from the beginning till now.
Even if I had not been invited as the chief guest, I would have been present at this event. This college will one day become a university and will gain international fame. On Saturday, November 15, through various arrangements throughout the day, the college premises turned into a festival to celebrate the two-year anniversary of the college and the alumni reunion.
The program was jointly hosted by Fazlur Rahman Memorial College Assistant Professor Gias Uddin and former student journalist M Hasan, and was presided over by Fazlur Rahman Memorial College of Technology Principal Muhammad Abu Taher.
The special guests who spoke at the two-year anniversary and reunion program were former Additional Secretary of the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, former Burichang Upazila Executive Officer Md. Maksudur Rahman, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Comilla District Shiksha Ali Rajib and Burichang Upazila Executive Officer Md. Tanvir Hossain.
Also present were Dr. Mobarak Hossain, nominee of Comilla-5 Jamaat-e-Islami, former General Secretary of Upazila BNP Md. Kamal Hossain, former Amir of Upazila Jamaat-e-Islami Professor Muhammad Abdul Awal, Amir of Upazila Jamaat-e-Islami Professor Muhammad Ahidur Rahman, Headmaster Muhammad Kabir Hossain, etc.
The students enjoyed the day-long event from 7 am to 6 pm through various activities. In the first phase, discussions and cultural programs kept everyone excited during the afternoon entertainment. All the teachers, students and guardians of the college were present at the event.
