Biplob Rosario, accused of raping a student in Savar, arrested

A RAB-4 operation team has arrested Biplob Rosario, one of the accused in the rape of a former student of Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP), on his way back home in Savar.

On Monday (October 20) afternoon, RAB-4, CPC-2 Company Commander Squadron Leader Md. Nazmul Islam confirmed that Biplob Rosario was arrested from the capital’s Diabari area.

Earlier, on the night of October 18, police arrested Mithu Biswas from the Tejkuni Para area of ​​Tejgaon Police Station in the capital, and on the night of October 19, DB police arrested the main accused Sohel Rosario from the Kaliganj area of ​​Gazipur.

The arrested person is Biplob Rosario (35), a resident of Gowalia area of ​​Kamalapur, Savar. According to the case report, the student returned home after giving private lessons to a student in Savar on Tuesday evening. But when he arrived, he found the house locked. Later, he found out that his mother had locked the house and left the key near a nearby tea shop. Later, he was walking home with the key from the shop.

On the way back, Sohel Rosario questioned him on various matters. After going some distance, Sohel met two other accused. Then they followed the young woman and asked various questions. At around 7 pm, Sohel forcibly took her to his house and raped her. The other two accused cooperated in this. After the rape, the young woman mentioned in her statement that Sohel threatened to kill her if she told anyone about the incident.

In this regard, Squadron Leader Md. Nazmul Islam, Company Commander of RAB-4, CPC-2, said that legal proceedings are underway against the arrested accused.
