The executive committee of the Narsingdi district branch of the Bangladesh Professional Journalists Forum (BPJF) has been formed.
Shanto Banik (Daily Narsingdi Nabakantha and Daily Bangla Nabakantha) has been elected as the president of the committee and Md. Harunur Rashid (Daily Ajker Patrika and Khabor Sangya) has been appointed as the general secretary, Khandaker Amir Hossain (Daily Bangla Nabakantha) and Md. Mostafa Khan (Daily Ittefaq) have been appointed as the vice-presidents. Joint general secretary Md. Abdul Qadir (Daily Kaler Kantha), finance secretary Momen Khan (Daily Amader Somoy), organizing secretary Md. Amjad Hossain (Daily Jugantor and Channel S), office secretary Aminul Haque (Daily Bhorer Pata and My TV), literature and publication secretary Didar Hossain Pintu (Daily Tritiya Matra and Weekly Arunima) and legal secretary Ed. S.M. Sharif (Daily Naya Shatabdi).
In addition, the executive members are Md. Asaduzzaman (Asad) (Daily Samakal), Mobarak Hossain (Daily Sangram), A.K.M. Selim (Daily Bangladesh Bulletin), Atabur Rahman Sunny (Daily Narsingdi's Nabkantha) and Arman Afrad (NPB News).
Central President Kazi Shariful Islam Shakil and General Secretary Md. Roman Akand expressed hope that the newly formed committee will further strengthen the unity of journalists in Narsingdi, contribute to providing impartial news and improving the standards of professional journalism. Narsingdi journalists have always been responsible for reporting on the people. He commented that the new committee will further expand the practice of professional journalism and will play a positive role in protecting the rights and welfare of journalists.
