Three days after she went missing in Shalban village of Khetlal upazila of Joypurhat, police have recovered the body of child Tasnia wrapped in a sack. Her body was recovered from the barn of her neighbor Ekramul Islam’s house on Friday evening. The deceased, Tasnia Akter (11), is the daughter of Ershad Ali of Shalban village of the upazila.
Police and local sources said that child Tasnia had not been found for the past three days. At one stage of the search, locals found a body wrapped in a sack in the barn of neighbor Ekramul on the evening of September 19 (Friday). Later, after receiving information, the police recovered the body. When this news spread, Ekramul fled the house. However, his wife has been arrested.
Confirming the truth of the incident, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Khetlal Police Station Md. Abdul Karim said that the child’s body was recovered after receiving information. After preparing the post-mortem report, the body will be sent to the Joypurhat General Hospital morgue for autopsy. Police have started work to identify and arrest those involved in the incident.
