The District Detective Branch (DB) has arrested Abu Obaidul Hasan Bobby, General Secretary of Bogra City Awami League.

He was arrested from the capital's Gulshan area at around 1 am on Thursday (October 9). The arrested Abu Obaidul Hasan Bobby (56) is the son of the deceased Ishaq Ali of Jaleswaritala area of ​​Bogra Sadar Upazila.

Bogra District Detective Branch (DB) In-charge Iqbal Bahar confirmed the matter and said, "We have arrested Abu Obaidul Hasan Bobby in a drive in Dhaka's Gulshan area. After initial interrogation, he will be sent to jail through the court."

According to DB sources, he is the accused in more than 12 cases filed for violence, sabotage and murder during the anti-discrimination student movement. Among them, several cases are under investigation under the murder, fighting and explosives act and some cases are already under trial in the court.

The DB said that based on a secret tip-off, a team from the District Intelligence Branch, Bogra, conducted a raid under Gulshan Police Station in Dhaka Metropolitan Area around 1 am on Friday and arrested him. He was later sent to jail through the court.
