A round table meeting on 5 Zero Plus was held in Nandail, Mymensingh, organized by World Vision Bangladesh. The meeting was held today (September 11), Thursday, at the Nandail Upazila Hall Room.
The main topics of the meeting were, child marriage-free, child labor-free, child malnutrition-free, child hunger-free, child skipping school, and stopping the use of plastic and creating a clean, green environment.
In the chairman’s speech, chaired by Nandail Upazila Executive Officer Sarmina Sattar and moderated by World Vision Bangladesh Nandail Area Manager Sagar John, Upazila Executive Officer Sarmina Sattar said that it will be possible to create a child marriage-free society in Nandail Upazila, ensure a child labor-free, child malnutrition-free, hunger-free future for children, and prevent students from dropping out of school if everyone comes forward together. Along with this, everyone should be aware of stopping the use of plastic and creating a clean, green environment.
Also speaking in the open discussion were Upazila Senior Fisheries Officer Shahana Nazneen, Youth Development Officer GM Selim Reza, Social Service Officer Mizanul Islam Akand, Officer-in-Charge of Nandail Model Police Station Khandaker Jalal Uddin Mahmud, Family Planning Officer Naimul Islam, Primary Education Officer Fazilatunnechcha, Senior Journalist Hannan Mahmud, Enamul Haque Babul, Ramesh Kumar Partho, Alam Farazi, Youth Forum President Nusrat Jahan Sathi and others.
The speakers at the round table meeting said that it will be possible to prevent child marriage, child labor and student dropouts only if awareness is created at every level of society. Along with this, everyone should be more proactive in environment-friendly activities and banning the use of plastic.
Also present at the meeting were government officials, journalists, NGO representatives, and members of the Children and Youth Forum.
