A day-long meeting and mahfil were held in Hijla with a large gathering of Islamic Movement members.

A day-long meeting and a night-long waz mahfil were held in Hijla Upazila of Barisal under the initiative of Mufti Syed Ishaq Muhammad Abul Khair, MP candidate of Islami Andolan Bangladesh (Hatpakha Pratik).
The entire area was transformed into a festive atmosphere in the presence of local leaders and activists and the general public.

The meeting was held on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at 3 pm in the premises of Afsar Uddin Fazil Madrasa.
Syed Mozammel Haque Maqsud, President of the Hijla Upazila Branch of Islami Andolan Bangladesh, presided over the program.

In his inaugural speech, he said that in the present time, there is no alternative to Islamic ideals to establish a just society. Islami Andolan Bangladesh is working towards that goal.

At the meeting, Abdullah Bin Kalam, Secretary of the Hijla Upazila Branch of the Islamic Movement Bangladesh, said, “We want to peacefully pursue the politics of justice and truth. Our goal is to establish a just society based on Islamic values.

In the speech of the chief guest, Mufti Syed Ishaq Muhammad Abul Khair, MP candidate with the hand fan symbol, said,
“Our politics is not for power, but for establishing Islamic ideals. We want to build a society where the ruler is God-fearing and a servant of the people. The Islamic Movement Bangladesh is working to build a state free from corruption, injustice and injustice.

He also said that the people of the country want change, want justice, and want the re-establishment of Islamic values. We are working for the pleasure of Allah and with the prayers and support of the people, Insha Allah, we will succeed.

At the end of the speech, a special prayer was offered for the peace, progress and Islamic unity of the country, nation and Muslim Ummah. The afternoon meeting was officially declared over with the prayer.

Later, after Isha, a waz mahfil and light dhikr were organized at the Government Hijla Degree College ground.
At that time, the ground was filled with a large presence of devout Muslims. The speakers discussed the importance of Islamic philosophy of life, morality, social reform and faithful leadership.

After the waz mahfil, the whole day’s program ended with dhikr and prayer. All the officials and members of the police station, union and ward levels were present at the meeting and mahfil.

The locals present said that the Islamic Movement is now taking a place in the minds of the people in the politics of Bangladesh, because they are doing the politics of value-based change.

The locals commented that this program with the hand fan symbol has created new enthusiasm and interest in the politics of Hijla Upazila.
