Md. Roni Ahmed Raju, Magura Correspondent:
The mother of the deceased and locals have expressed satisfaction that the High Court has upheld the death sentence in the much-discussed rape and murder case of Magura’s child Asia. However, even though the verdict is upheld, Asia’s mother is not fully satisfied until the sentence is executed. They have demanded that the legal process be completed quickly and the verdict be executed.
The death sentence has been upheld by the High Court verdict.
The family of the deceased and locals have regained relief after the High Court announced the verdict in the much-discussed rape and murder case of child Asia on Monday.
After the verdict was announced, Asia’s mother Ayesha Akhter expressed satisfaction with the court’s decision. However, she is now waiting for the sentence to be executed.
Along with Asia’s family, local residents have also expressed satisfaction with the High Court verdict. They demand that all legal processes be completed quickly and the sentence be executed. According to them, if exemplary punishment is implemented quickly, it will create fear among criminals in future cases of such crimes against children.
The family members also have the same demand. They fear that the delay in implementing the exemplary punishment may encourage the criminals more.
Therefore, they have demanded not any kind of pardon, but the speedy execution of the sentence after the legal process.
The death of child Acia shook not only her family, but the entire area. Although the family is relieved that the death sentence was upheld by the High Court verdict after a long legal process, the relief is not yet complete.
They expect that the sentence will be executed after completing all the legal processes quickly.
