Ahead of the upcoming Udaipur Union Parishad (UP) elections in Kalai Upazila of Joypurhat, Kalai Upazila Joint Convener Rafiqul Islam Chowdhury (Tuku) has held a public relations and distributed leaflets.
On Tuesday (August 18) afternoon, he held a public relations and election leaflets at various shops, business establishments and important places in the Moslemganj Bazar area of Udaipur Union, seeking prayers, support and valuable votes from businessmen, working people, buyers and sellers and local residents.
During the public relations, Rafiqul Islam Chowdhury (Tuku) said that if he gets the opportunity to be elected as the chairman by the people’s vote, he will work to build Udaipur Union into a modern, safe and people-friendly model union free from drugs, extortion and terrorism. He also promised to give priority to the development of education, health, communication system, citizen services and infrastructure.
He further said that as a public representative, his main goal will be to deliver services to the doorsteps of the people, ensure transparency and accountability, and work for the welfare of people from all classes and professions.
Many of the local voters present at the time responded positively to his speech and assured him of supporting and voting for him in the elections.
Former Kalai Upazila Joint Convener Jalal Uddin, Ward BNP Organizing Secretary Wahedul Islam, one of the Krishak Dal members Taj Uddin, Charowar, Fazlur Rahman, Taj Mahal, Shaheen, local dignitaries, businessmen, people from different classes and professions, and Tuku Chowdhury supporters participated in the public relations and leaflet distribution program.
