Kolkata (India) Correspondent:
This morning, Jahangir Khan, the Trinamool Congress candidate for Falta Vidhan Sabha constituency and a close aide of Abhishek Banerjee, was arrested from the international border area of India and Nepal. In the last Vidhan Sabha elections, Jahangir Khan was the Trinamool Congress candidate for Falta Vidhan Sabha constituency. And on the day of the first phase of voting, there was an incident of black tape being put inside the EVM voting machine.
And the Election Commission cancelled the entire Falta Vidhan Sabha election. And re-election was held on April 29th. And in that election, he withdrew himself from the voting field in advance to prevent the Trinamool Congress from losing. This Falta Vidhan Sabha constituency is one such constituency from which the Trinamool Congress General Secretary and Diamond Harbour Lok Sabha MP was leading by a margin of nearly two lakh votes in the last Lok Sabha elections. But in the last Vidhan Sabha elections, BJP candidate Devangshu Panda won from this constituency by more than one lakh votes. For a long time, the leaders and workers of the Trinamool Congress had taken away the right to vote of the common people in this constituency.
And the leaders and workers of the opposition party were forced to leave their homes in the face of terror and weapons. And they collected a huge amount of money from different places in Falta and gave it to the Trinamool party fund. In the last legislative assembly elections, Uttar Pradesh IPS officer Shri Ajay Pal Sharma had to be brought in to maintain peace and order in the Falta legislative assembly elections. He kept visiting different places in Falta and providing encouragement and courage to the common people. And after the elections, BJP candidate Devangshu Panda won from this constituency. Just before that, Pushpa Jahangir fled from Falta legislative assembly constituency.
Finally, today, he was arrested by the special force members of the STF of Kolkata from the international border area of India and Nepal. On the one hand, this Jahangir Khan is a powerful leader of the South 24 Parganas district of the Trinamool Congress. On the other hand, he was the in-charge of the Public Works and Transport Department of the South 24 Parganas District Council. A few days ago, the NIA members arrested the MLA of Canning East in South 24 Parganas district and the General Secretary of the Trinamool Congress, a prominent leader, Shawkat Mollah.
Just a week later, Jahangir Khan, a powerful leader of the Trinamool Party and a close associate of Abhishek Banerjee, was arrested again. After this, the question of the common people has been raised that what action is going to be taken against all the Trinamool Congress block leadership and regional Trinamool Congress leaders and leaders and workers of the new Trinamool Party, who oppressed and tortured the common people and forced them to vote for the Trinamool Party by intimidating the common people and by using liquor, goons and bike gangs to torture the leaders and workers of the opposition party on the eve of the vote.
And in the Magrahat West legislative assembly elections, all the Trinamool party leaders and new Trinamool leaders who had already taken to the field to oppress and exact hefty fines from opposition party leaders and workers in many places are waiting to see what punishment they will receive and what action will be taken against them.
