The freshers’ welcome and prize distribution ceremony was held on Thursday amidst an exciting atmosphere at Pirganj Women’s Degree College located in Pirganj Upazila of Thakurgaon. As the college premises were decorated with decorations, the new students felt a sense of pride and glory as soon as they set foot in it. The entire campus took on a festive backdrop.
The program was presided over by the acting principal of the college, Mohammad ABM Kamal Uddin. Upazila Executive Officer (Acting) and Assistant Commissioner (Land) Md. MN Isfakul Kabir were present as the chief guest. Pirganj Press Club General Secretary Nasrat Khoda Rana spoke as the special guest, along with college lecturers Rafiqul Islam, Professor Fawzia, and power member Khandaker Chamchiar Begum. In addition, members of the college management council, other lecturers, students and local dignitaries were present at the program.
In the inaugural address, the guests told the students, “Education is not just a means of obtaining a degree, but a stepping stone to becoming a complete human being. They reiterated the importance of increasing attention to morality, human values, and higher education. In particular, they said that the role of Pirganj Women’s Degree College in the promotion of women’s education and social change is very relevant and commendable.
Then the awards ceremony was unveiled for those who were placed in the merit list and participated in physical and intellectual competitions. The students who had secured a place in the regular classes of the college with honesty and merit were given titles and honors. Along with this, the students who won the annual sports competition expressed their festive expressions after receiving their well-deserved awards. The awardees expressed their gratitude to the entire college family and said that this recognition is a level of inspiration for them.
Finally, the new students were welcomed with flowers. Then, cultural accompaniment including music and dance performances enlivened the program. The program turned into a unique memory in the presence of the teachers and students of the college and the guests. Declaring the end of the program, the principal thanked everyone including the college council, teachers, students and guests.
Today’s fresher’s welcome and award ceremony was not just a one-day event; it was a new beginning, the beginning of a new chapter.
