A preparatory meeting was held in Ranishankail Upazila of Thakurgaon in view of the celebration of three important national days of 2025—Freedom Day from Pakistani Invaders on December 3, Martyred Intellectuals Day on December 14, and Great Victory Day on December 16.
The meeting was organized by the Upazila administration at the Upazila Parishad Hallroom on Sunday. Upazila Executive Officer Miz Khatija Begum was present as the chief guest at the meeting.
Leaders of various political, social and local organizations participated in the program. Among those present were—Upazila BNP President Ataur Rahman, General Secretary Allama Wadud Bin Alif, Municipal BNP President Shahjahan Ali, former Vice Chairman and Jamaat-e-Islam MP candidate Mizanur Rahman Master, Public Rights Council MP candidate Mamunur Rashid Mamun, and Chairman of No. 1 Dharmaghat Union Abul Kashem.
In addition, former president of the old press club Anwarul Haque, current president Shafiqul Islam Shilpi, leaders and activists of various political parties, freedom fighters, teachers and representatives of civil society joined the meeting.
The meeting discussed in detail the celebration of national days with due dignity, taking up programs, security and overall preparations. The upazila administration said that various programs including colorful processions, discussion meetings, cultural programs will be taken on the days.
At the end of the meeting, the guests said that there is no alternative to celebrating these days with importance to present the history of independence to the new generation and spread the spirit of the liberation war among everyone.
