Under the strict instructions of Naogaon District Superintendent of Police Mohammad Tariqul Islam, the District Detective Branch (DB) conducted three separate anti-narcotics operations in a span of a day and arrested eight people with drugs. These operations were conducted in Manda, Naogaon municipal areas and areas adjacent to Dhaka bus stand in the district throughout the night on Saturday (December 06, 2025).
In the first operation, Sujon (40) was arrested with 1 kg 500 grams of marijuana from in front of Emdad’s house in Kabulpur village of Manda police station at 9:30 pm. The second operation was conducted in front of Shafin Filling Station of Naogaon Municipality at 10:10 pm. There, DB police arrested Faisal (27) and his associate Tariqul (36) with 15 pieces of yaba.

Then, in the third and largest operation conducted at 10:40 pm, 60 pieces of yaba and consumption equipment were recovered from room 406 of Hotel Vacation adjacent to Naogaon bus stand. A total of five people – Abu Said (31), Sohel (32), Prakash Raj Banshi (32), Zakir (32) and Ripon (32) – were arrested red-handed in the operation.
Police said that regular cases have been registered against the arrested persons under the Narcotics Control Act in each incident. In this regard, Superintendent of Police Mohammad Tariqul Islam said – Zero tolerance policy is being followed to eradicate drugs in Naogaon district, and more vigorous operations will continue in the future.
