6 injured in head-on collision between Sohag Transport and truck in Jessore

At least six people were injured in a head-on collision between a Sohag Paribahan bus and a truck in the Teraganj Bazar area of ​​the Jessore-Narail highway. The accident occurred after Sunday evening. With the immediate action of the locals, some of the injured were rescued and sent to the Jessore 250-bed General Hospital.

Eyewitnesses said that some time after the evening, the locals rushed to the spot after hearing a loud noise. When they arrived, they found that a Sohag Paribahan bus (Dhaka Metro-B 13-0144) leaving from Dhaka and a truck coming from the opposite direction had collided head-on. The front parts of the bus and the truck were twisted in the collision. However, there was no loss of life. The driver fled.

Local residents and passers-by quickly went to the spot and rescued the injured. Traffic on the highway was closed for about half an hour after the accident.

Monirul Islam, a passenger of the bus that was involved in the accident, said that the bus was moving at an abnormal speed from Dhaka. We warned the driver several times, but he did not listen. As a result, this accident occurred.

Emergency Department doctor Bichitra Mallick said that no patient has come to the hospital yet.
