The Sadar Model Police Station has arrested a gang of four robbers, including an accused in 14 cases, while preparing for a robbery in the Medda area of ​​​​Brahmanbaria Sadar Upazila. During this time, local weapons, robbery equipment, a microbus, mobile phones and cash were recovered from them.

According to police sources, on Friday (June 20, 2026) at 1:20 am, a team from the Sadar Model Police Station conducted a raid in front of Kokil Textile in the Medda area of ​​​​Brahmanbaria Municipality based on a secret information. The news said that a group of people had gathered there with the intention of robbery.

When the police reached the spot, the members of the robbers tried to escape. Later, four people were arrested in a raid conducted throughout the night. However, 8 to 10 of their associates managed to escape.

Two ramdas, a spiked club, an axe attached to a bicycle pedal, a white Noah model microbus, 3,300 taka in cash, a helmet, a monkey hat, a steel flashlight, 2 Android mobile phones, 9 button phones, a bundle of thick rope and a key for handcuffs were recovered from the arrested. All the recovered evidence has been seized legally.

The arrested are Md. Rashek Mia of Adra village in Kasba upazila, Md. Jahangir Alam of Noagaon village in Nabinagar upazila, Rafiqul Islam of Medda area in Sadar upazila and Md. Kamal Mia of Aliabad village in Nabinagar upazila.

During initial interrogation, the police learned that there are a total of 14 cases against the arrested Rashek Mia, including robbery, preparation for robbery, Arms Act and theft. In addition, three robbery cases are pending against Jahangir Alam and a rape case against Rafiqul Islam.

Two separate cases have been filed against those arrested in this incident at Brahmanbaria Sadar Model Police Station under the preparation of robbery and the Arms Act.

Police said that the arrested have been sent to jail through the court. At the same time, the operation to arrest other absconding members is continuing.
