Villagers arrested three members of a gang of thieves, including two women, while they were entering a house in the daytime in Chhaor Baldahar (Kamardha) village of Porsha in Naogaon and handed them over to the police station.
On Thursday, around 4:30 pm, the gang members secretly entered the house of Nazmul Haque, son of Shamsul Haque, in the village. At that time, Nazmul's wife Sathi Khatun was alone in the house. When they entered the house and tried to steal the house's belongings, the villagers rushed to the house and caught the two women and the CNG driver on the screams of the partner. They were later handed over to the police.
The arrested are Roksana (40), daughter of Mohir Uddin of Boalia Kalupur village in Gomostapur upazila of Chapainawabganj district, and Josna (50), wife of Naimuddin, and Nasim (45), son of the deceased Abdus Chattar of Hogla village.
A regular case has been filed against them at the police station. They were sent to jail on Friday. Porsha Police Station Officer-in-Charge Mintu Rahman confirmed the matter.
