Two people were killed and four injured in a road accident in Dhamairhat, Naogaon. Eyewitnesses said that the tragic accident occurred on Saturday, October 25, at around 7 am on the Bihari Nagar Pirldanga Bypass Road, Taljhari, on the double bridge.
While the cattle traders were going to Joypurhat via Bihari Nagar Pirldanga Bypass Road, they gave way to a nearby motorcyclist on the Taljhari double bridge and lost control and overturned in the ditch under the bridge. At that time, the driver of the cattle, Masudur Rahman (35), son of Joydul Islam of Adanagar village in this upazila, and Bhutu (40), son of Nazim Uddin of Adanagar village, died on the spot.
On receiving the information, Dhamirhat Police Station Officer-in-Charge Zafar Imam along with the police and fire service team reached the spot and rescued the people from the debris with the help of locals and admitted them to Dhamirhat Health Complex. The injured are Jihad (25) son of Mukul Hossain of Adanagar village, Zaidhul (55) son of deceased Kafiluddin of Fatepur village, and Nazim Uddin (70) son of deceased Ashir Uddin of Laxmanpada village.
The motorcycle driver is Selim Reza son of Zahurul Islam of Dinajpur. The condition of the injured Selim Riza and Nazim Uddin is critical and they have been sent to Rajshahi Medical Hospital.
