A sudden raid was conducted in Dhamirhat, Naogaon and two people were arrested along with a Kushtipathar idol.
On Monday, September 15, at 2:30 pm, based on a secret tip-off, Rajshahi RAB-5 Joypurhat Company Captain Additional Police Superintendent Nazmul Haque PPM led a raid in Beniduar village of Dhamirhat Upazila and arrested two people along with a Kushtipathar idol weighing 20 kg 100 grams.
The arrested were Mahmudul Islam (44), son of Chaifuddin of Joyjoypur village of the upazila, and Tariqul Islam (35), son of Moen Uddin of Durgapur village. The Kushtipathar idol has been sent to the Paharpur Archaeology Department for examination and preservation.
