The Narcotics Control Department (DNC) has arrested a woman with a huge quantity of Yaba in a raid in Naikshongchhari, Bandarban. During this, 110,000 pieces of Yaba, 43,500 taka in cash and a button phone were seized from her.
On Wednesday (September 10) evening, a joint team of Bandarban and Cox’s Bazar offices led by DNC’s Assistant Director Md. Sirajul Mostafa participated in the raid at Paschimpara, Ward No. 5 of Ghumdhum Union of the upazila.
The arrested female dealer is Fatema Khatun (38), wife of Md. Amin Prakash Mike Amin of the area. She has been active in the drug trade in the area for a long time and had been caught by the police earlier on charges of carrying Yaba.
DNC’s Assistant Director Md. Sirajul Mostafa said that during the operation, 100,000 Yaba pills wrapped in plastic bags were recovered from the bedroom of Fatema Khatun’s own house and another 200 Yaba pills were recovered from under the mattress.
