A woman named Parveena Khatun (45) was killed in a van accident in Alukdia, Chuadanga. Two others were seriously injured in the same incident.
The tragic accident took place at around 2:00 pm today (November 23) in the Alukdia Bazar area of the Chuadanga-Meherpur road. The deceased Parveena Khatun is the wife of the deceased Raju Hossain of Alukdia Monirampur village.
Ward 01 member of Alukdia Union Parishad Al Belal said that Parveena Khatun was returning home in the van after buying groceries.
When she reached Alukdia Bazar, a passenger bus named 'Allahr Dan' coming from behind lost control and hit the van. Parveena Khatun died on the spot.
Another person, including the van driver, was seriously injured on the spot. Later, they were rescued and sent to Chuadanga Sadar Hospital.
Chuadanga Fire Service Warehouse Inspector Khalid Hussain said that after receiving the information, they quickly went to the spot, rescued the injured and sent them to the hospital. The body of the deceased was recovered from under the bus and handed over to the police.
Chuadanga Additional Superintendent of Police (Sadar Circle) Mostafizur Rahman said that after receiving the information, the police reached the spot and brought the situation under control.
Currently, traffic on the road is normal. The bus driver and helper are absconding after the accident. The body has been kept at the Chuadanga Sadar Hospital morgue and the injured are undergoing treatment.
