1 arrested with drugs in joint forces operation in Darshan

A joint operation by the army and police in Darshana district of Chuadanga district has arrested a man named Mahbub Alam Palash along with 263 pieces of Yaba and one gram of ganja. He was arrested from his house in the area adjacent to Mohammadpur Jame Mosque in Darshana Municipality at around 12:00 am on Monday. The arrested Palash is the son of the deceased Badrul Alam of Mohammadpur area.

The army gave this information in a press release sent to the media on Tuesday (September 23) morning. In the release, the army said that in the current context of the country, the Bangladesh Army is performing its duties with professionalism and impartiality to ensure public safety, control law and order and prevent illegal activities.

In continuation of this, the army and police led by Captain Manjurul Rahman Masfi conducted a joint operation in the area adjacent to Mohammadpur Jame Mosque in Darshana Municipality of Chuadanga district at around 12:00 am on Monday.

During this time, a person named Mahbub Alam Palash was arrested with 263 pieces of Yaba, one puree of ganja, a ganja smoking pipe, four ganja cutting tools and an Android mobile phone. The accused Palash was handed over to the Darshana Police Station along with the drugs at around 03:00 am after the legal proceedings.

The army further said that such operations of the Bangladesh Army will continue in the future to maintain law and order and ensure the safety of the people. The public is requested to report any kind of criminal activity to the nearest army camp or law enforcement agencies.
