Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has recovered 22,000 pieces of Burmese Yaba in this operation at the Ramu Morichya Joint Checkpost in Cox’s Bazar. A young man has been arrested in the incident. On October 7, 2025, at around 8:45 am, based on intelligence information about drug smuggling on a motorcycle, a patrol team on duty at the Morichya Joint Checkpost under the leadership of Assistant Director Md. Kabir Hossain, under the direction of Lt. Col. Kazi Mahtab Uddin Ahmed, Commander of Ramu 30 BGB Battalion, stopped a suspicious motorcycle and questioned the driver, Newaz Uddin Morshed (20), son of Mohammad Hossain of Hnila Purba Phuler Dail, Teknaf. At one stage, he confessed to carrying Yaba. Later, 22,000 Yaba was recovered in a specially hidden condition inside the air filter of the motorcycle after searching.
30th BGB Battalion Commander Lt. Col. Kazi Mahtab Uddin Ahmed said that legal action is being taken against the arrested drug dealer along with the motorcycle loaded with Yaba and the process of handing him over to the local police station is underway.
